Refit Typhoon 3D with new Outrunner

Well, it was too windy to fly today, so I spent the day fixing planes. I REALLY needed to change the aileron push rods on the Piaget (they were flexing and not pushing in a straight line). So I did that, and I also was not real happy with the reception on the GWS 4ch SC Rx on the piaget, so I swapped it out to try the synthetic Corona 4ch SC I got. It worked pretty well from what I can see, and has good range. Flew it for just a second, but it was doing 15-20mph gusts, so really was NOT fun with this piaget. Really freaked me out.

I also had a stripped elevator servo on my Typhoon 3D and needed to put the Hitec Neutron 6s back in after taking it off the piaget, since I got my new feather light Corona in there. So, I replaced the stripped servo with an HS-81 Hitec just like my rudder servo (it also stripped some time ago). While looking at that, I glued the rudder wheel back on after the last hard "landing" (grin). Noted that the stupid prop shaft had pulled out of the big gear on the main drive (again) and that the shaft was just a little bent. I really don't like this setup, so I figured I would dive into swapping out the motor for the Turnigy 35-42C 1100kv outrunner I had bought a couple months ago for this plane. I also had to swap out the ESC for a Turnigy Sentry 40A BESC and put an APC 11x5.5 prop on it. The cowl doesn't fit it anymore (not sure what can be done about that), but I think this thing is really going to scream. forgot to check CG before swapping everything out, so now, I'm a little freaked out about how it is going to balance. The new motor is about 169g with prop and everything (old was about 110g). I expect the ESC is just a little heavier too. So, I probably need to shuffle some things back just a touch. We'll see. Hope it isn't windy tomorrow.

Next, I need to figure out how to hang the planes all up in the shop. They have been sitting on the floor and just begging to be stepped on or something, so I really need to get them out of the way. I think I can hang them by the gear up against the wall, but need to figure out a nice bracket to do it.
