Hitec Rx

Well, I keep having problems with my Hitec Mini 6s single conversion Rx. The gliching happens in multiple planes, different ESC's and all different locations (even way out in the desert where there should be no interferrance). I'm pretty sure it is bad (or maybe the ch 30 crystal is bad???). Anyway, I'm going to replace it with a Neutron 6s dual conversion. I love how they work. I've had too many cases of near crashes or partial crashes (grin) with this Mini 6s. The latest was trying it in my Typhoon. And when those control surfaces go full rail glitch...wow...hard to recover from. I'm sick of it. I don't think it has anything to do with single conversion, but I'm done. It just isn't worth monkeying with. I'm going dual conversion and have had absolutely ZERO problems with two different neutron 6s Rx.

  1. Well, I promised I was "done" with this, but I decided to take a trip to the LHS and try just swapping out the SC crystal (ch 30) with a new one. Just to make CERTAIN. Got it back, put the Rx back in my typhoon and headed out. Immediate rev-cut-rev out of the motor about 100 yards out, but then it settled down. But flew it for another 5 minutes and all of the sudden it started radically flipping (imagine partial snap rolls intermitantly without you controlling them with full down elevator thrown in). Sigh. That does it.

  2. That comment above was actually left on the 12th of January. I finally sent the Rx in to Hitec, and they just shipped it back with comments that they replaced defective/broken capacitors? I sure hope that it is now really "fixed". That would make me much happier. I'll try it out this weekend.

  3. Yeah...they didn't fix crap. Same problems and the radio glitches like crazy with the Tx antanae down at 50 paces. This really sucks. I spent $10 just shipping it back to them. Sigh. I hope I like the synthesized Corona Rx I get, because it is like $18 and not crystal to buy...

  4. I've just about had it with Single Conversion Rx's. I got a SC 4ch GWS tiny Rx to put on my piaget, and while it doesn't usually get too far away from me, so it shouldn't need to much signal strenth, it does a couple little wig-out glitches when the antane is pointed directly at the plane sometimes. It isn't NEARLY as bad as the Hitech Mini62, but it isn't as far away either. Plane on the ground and tx on the ground (even with antanae fully extended) and at 75 paces, it is glitching. Granted, this is a super cheap short range Rx, but either my Futaba 7CAP Tx is really low on the output power, or I've got lots of interfereance where I fly (DC has absolutely no problems...ever).
